First Story: A Bowl of Grapes

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh, As servants of the God who has faith, let us pray and praise to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala who has given not only strength but also physical and mental health to us all so that we can gather here in this site.

We do not forget to greets and praise God Messenger, Muhammad Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam, who has brought humanity to a civilization that is full of advances in science and technology as we feel it today.

May we all, God servants, have the right to receive their intercession on the last day.

I like to take this opportunity to tell a story about our Prophet Muhammad and a bowl of grapes.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in Surah Al Qalam verse 4 says:

Furthermore, indeed, “you” (Muhammad) are of a high moral character.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala even said that Rasulullah Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam had great morals.

Indeed the word of God is accurate because our Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam has many stories about his high morals like one of the following stories.

#A Bowl of Grape – A Story about Prophet Muhammad, who has high morals.

One day, the Prophet sallallaahu’alaihi Wasallam had a poor male guest on his premises.

The guest brought a bowl of grapes as a gift to the prophet.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam did not refuse the gift that was coming from the guest.

The Prophet accepted it happily and then began to eat it.

His best friends know that the messenger of God never ate for himself but always shared the food with his people.

However, the attitude of the Prophet sallallaahu’alaihi Wasallam this time was not as usual.

He ate the first fruit with a smile to the person who gave the fruit.

Likewise, when the Prophet Muhammad took the second fruit, he returned to eat it then smiled again.

When the Prophet ate the grapes, the person who gave the gift of grapes looked extremely happy.

The way the prophet ate while smiling made the person conclude that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam liked the fruit he gave.

When the Prophet was eating and smiling, several of the prophet friends who were near him at that time were full of wonder.

Why did the Prophet eat all the food alone?

Seeing this incident, all of the prophet friends surprised by the attitude of the Prophet Muhammad.

When the fruit was all eaten by the Prophet Muhammad, he was then asking permission to go home.

The Prophet permitted the guest to leave.

The Guest was then leaving the Prophet with a heart full of happiness.

When the poor man was no longer visible, a friend near The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi Wasallam then asked: “O Messenger of Allah, why did you not invite us to eat with you?”

The Prophet Muhammad smiled and answered, “You had seen how happy that person’s face was when he gave me a bowl of grapes.”

“When I ate the grape, I found it bitter and sour.”

“When I feel the sourness of the grape, I decide not to invite you to eat with me,”

“If I invite you to eat with me, then you possibly show unhappy or harsh expressions that will ruin that person’s happiness. “

Mashallah, even the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam, has a great concern to the most sensitive thing, which is to protect others feeling.
