Second Story: The Prophet Muhammad’s Patience that could not be matched by others.

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh, As servants of God, let us pray and praise to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, who has given not only strength but also physical and mental health to us all so that we can gather in this site in the framework of servitude to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

Greetings to our Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam, who has brought humanity to a civilization that is full of advances in science and technology as we feel it today.

May we all have the right to receive their intercession on the last day.

Amen.

The author wants to take this opportunity to tell a story about examples of The Prophet’s patience that will not be able to be matched by other humans.

Prophet Muhammad is not a selfish person, or is afraid with his fortune will disappear because he believes Allah will never wrong in calculating one’s wealth.

The author would like to deliver some of the Prophet stories about his extraordinary patience.

One day, The Prophet Muhammad realized that his clothing for da’wah (“spreading Islamic teaching”) was outdated.

One morning, His Majesty Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam looked busy observing his clothes.

The Prophet stared carefully at the clothes from the bottom to the top.

Clothes that always faithfully cover his body when he preaches not only protect him from the heat of the sun at noon but also the cold air at night or before dawn.

His favorite clothes were always worn by the Prophet from day to day without ever resting until he realized that the clothes he often used for preaching and trading were, in fact, shabby.

He wanted to change the clothes he was wearing with new clothes that were suitable for use but did not have any money to buy them.

He often asked himself at that time, with what he had to buy new clothes? Even though the old clothes that he used to preach were dull and unfit for use.

One day, the Prophet sallallaahu’alaihi wasallam had a fortune of eight Dirhams.

The Prophet immediately rushed his step into the market when he had the money.

However, What kind of clothes could he buy using the money at that time?

Because the amount is minimal, will the money be enough to buy food, drink, and clothes?

Therefore, all of us need to rejoice ourselves with the money we have right now because our Prophet, Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam has given such a clear example that even though he is in a state of poverty, he remains patient and understands that fortune is in the hands of Allah, so he didn’t need to worry.

Our beloved Prophet then goes to the market with little money without thinking negatively or complaining.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam went into the market happily because at that time, Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam armed with eight dirhams of money.

Humans who are full of light, even though he was poor, he does not complain at all but very happy with his life.

He did not even want to die, also though poverty ensnared his life every day.

On the way to the market, he found a woman who was crying.

Seeing these conditions, the Prophet then approached the woman and asked what the cause of the woman crying was?

After being investigated, the woman then said that she had just lost her money.

Hearing this, without further ado, Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam immediately gave his money as much as two dirhams and then calmed the woman.

After the woman calmed down, Rasulullah continued his journey to an increasingly crowded market with the remaining Dirham money.

Lots of people rebuked him respectfully along the market aisle that he passed.

The Prophet answered with a smile.

He also reminds all those who greeted him with the greatness of Allah.

Until in the end, he arrived at his destination.

When he arrived at the place of clothing, immediately, he bought a pair of clothes at four dirhams, and then he quickly returned home after successfully getting new clothes.

On the way home, he met an older man.

The person begged for pity for a piece of clothing to wear to the Prophet.

Seeing this, the Prophet, who was compassionate, felt pity then immediately gave the new clothes that he previously bought to the older man.

He then returns to the market to buy clothes with the remaining money.

Because the rest of the Prophet’s money was only two Dirhams, the clothes he got were only one, but the quality was not that good when compared to the previous garments.

Nevertheless, once he was still happy, then went home with his new clothing.

His steps accelerated so fast because of the increasingly intense heat of the sun piercing through his pores, followed by the afternoon breeze. He certainly did not want to go overnight on the road.

However, not long after he stepped outside the market, he met the woman who cried earlier.

The woman looked confused and agitated.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam then approached the woman and asked why.

The woman was afraid to go home.

She said that she was late from the promised time, and was afraid to be scolded by her boss if he returned later.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam immediately said he would take her home.

The woman walked in front then, followed by Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam from behind.

The woman’s heart is calm because Rasulullah Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam will surely protect her.

She was sure that her employer would forgive the delay in going home because the woman was going back home together with the noblest man in the world.

It might even be grateful to go home, bringing goodness along with the arrival of their prophets.

They continued until they reached the village of the Ansari.

Incidentally, at that time, there were only their wives.

“Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullah,” said Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam loudly.

They all quietly did not answer, although they hear the Prophet voice. Their hearts filled with happiness because of the coming of the Prophet.

They regard the greetings of the Prophet sallallaahu’alaihi Wasallam as a blessing.

They still want to hear it again. When no response came, the Prophet sallallaahu’alaihi Wasallam gave his regards back.

However, he still did not hear an answer.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam then repeated it for the third time in a loud voice, “Assalamu ‘Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah,” which was then answered simultaneously by them.

Rasulullah was very surprised.

He asked them why they did that?

They say, “yes, Rasulullah. We have heard since earlier. We deliberately not answer the greetings because we want to get more greetings, O Rasulullah.”

“Your servant was late coming home and did not dare to go home alone. If she has to receive the punishment, then please deliver the punishment to me.” Rasulullah continued.

This remark much surprised them.

Rasulullah traveled so far to deliver a slave who was afraid of being scolded by her owner.

As a result of the Prophet’s action, they were very moved and then said they would forgive and even release the slave because the arrival of the slave together with the Prophet was considered to be Allah’s gift.

Hearing this, the slave could not express her enormous gratitude and then gave thanks for his freedom to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam then asks permission to go home with a happy heart because he had succeeded in freeing slavery.

He also did not forget to pray for the women to get blessings from Allah.

May all wealth and inheritance remain in a state of faith in Islam.

On his way home, he was busy thinking about the events that happened today because today is a day full of blessings.

Finally, he muttered to himself that he had never met the blessing of eight Dirham as it is today.

Eight Dirhams can secure a person from fear, two people who need and liberate a slave.

For a Muslim who gives clothes to his fellow Muslims, Allah will take care of it as long as the clothes are still attached.

Mashallah, The Prophet’s attitude is genuinely commendable, O Rasulullah, because actually, Rasulullah could have become a wealthy merchant if he wanted to, but so he did not want to use that convenience.

If he wants, then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala can instantly turn mountains and sand into precious gold items for him.

He was not willing to do so because of his love for the extraordinary needy. If later he becomes a wealthy man, who will be an example if he is not? That is one example of the attitude of the Prophet that can not be owned by other humans on earth.

Many other examples we can take from him when the Prophet endured various kinds of suffering hunger and thirst to withstand all the trials and tests that come in his life with patience.

Rasulullah Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam always gave thanks for the blessings of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in any form regardless of small or large.

Who else if he is not able to accompany his people in living their life in the abyss of grief and poverty that has been determined by Allah Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala?

Only he was able to carry out various things above.

Because the Prophet is the only human who has received the mandate from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for all mankind.

A purer and nobler duty when compared to a diamond and gold.

An extraordinary task whose glory exceeds the silky smoothness and is more beautiful than all the beauty known to man in this world.

The task is higher than all positions and degrees of human life, which he said was magnificent.

But the Prophet from the beginning was aware that all that exists in this world is an only mortal pleasure while the eternal and the best place is back in the sight of Allah.

The struggle is not easy.

Even very heavy for the Prophet.

Uphold, which rights can only be achieved with full faith and strength.

Patience in facing any disasters that befall then must remain grateful in any circumstances with a clean heart, both in grief and joy, as well as thankful for the faith and Islam that always accompanies the subject of the message carried by the Prophet sallallaahualaihi wasallam.
